Clear any cache so there is no record of any transactions left on screen - all popular browsers let you do this.

Our website is 'https' using a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection so that any data you provide to us is encrypted and passed in the safest manner. Always look for the padlock next to our address at the top of your browser.

We also recommend you then close your browser so any history of the session is cleared. As an extra precaution, your session on www.appliancehouse.co.uk will time out if you have not used the site for 3 hours.

We collect information from visitors to our website to help us to make improvements to the website and to the services we make available. We know, for instance, how many visitors there are to each website, when they visited, for how long and to which areas of our website they went. We do not share this information with other companies. You or any other individual cannot be identified from the information we share as the data is aggregated and anonymised.

11. What about cookies?

A "cookie" is a text file which is allocated by our server to your personal computer (PC) when you visit our website. If you want to know more about cookies please go to www.allaboutcookies.org which explains how cookies work and how you can manage their use.

They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process.

Appliance House's cookies do not collect any information regarding the use of your PC or your Internet browsing in any way.

The law now requires us to gain your consent before issuing the above cookies to your computer or mobile device. Unfortunately, the current Google Analytics code we use cannot be switched on and off on our website with the press of a button on-screen. Therefore, until such time that we can implement a technical on-screen solution, if you do not consent to being issued with these cookies, please set your browser to decline them (you will continue to be able to view and use our site normally).

VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE
This cookie saves your viewing preferences each time you watch a video that is embedded in our website using our public YouTube channel player, and expires 240 days after being issued.

The law now requires us to gain your consent before issuing the above cookies to your computer or mobile device. Unfortunately, the current embed code we use for these video players cannot be switched on and off on our website with the press of a button on-screen. Every computer connected to the internet is provided with a domain name and an IP address. When a visitor requests a page from within the Appliance House website, our web servers automatically identify and log the HTTP request that is made to our web server.
