Simple Steak and Wedges
We all know that feeling, you get home from work, you’re tired and all you want is a tasty quick meal. Takeaway is also an option but that’s just plain bad and you really want to eat healthy. A ‘healthy’ ready meal is another option but they’re often filled with sugar, preservatives etc. Here’s where the Simple Steak and Wedges comes to save the day.
What you need:
- A nice cut of Steak (Rib-eye is always a winner)
- 1 large potato
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder (Optional)
- Cajun Spices (Optional)
*Try and leave your steak at room temperature before cooking, (steaks hate being thrown in the pan cold)
Lets get started!
- Give the potato a scrub and cut into wedges
- Throw the wedges in a bowl, add a lug of olive oil a pinch of salt and pepper along with some garlic and Cajun spices and mix it all up!
- Oil a baking tray and place the wedges in the oven for 25-30 mins (180 Celsius) and turn occasionally.
- While the wedges are happily cooking away – add a pinch of salt and pepper to the steak.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan (griddle pans work best) and reduce to a medium high heat.
- Place the steak in the pan and cook 2 mins on each side for a lovely medium cook (adjust if you have super thick or thin steak or if like rare or well done).
- Enjoy!
