Get your friends round for brunch and serve up a Breakfast Martini to start your day in style! Saturday 9th June is officially World Gin Day so perhaps a sneaky breakfast tipple is allowed, it makes a lovely change to a bucks fizz!If you enjoy a gin after a busy week we have three Fabulous Gin Cocktail Recipes that are a doddle to make and make a refreshing change to the usual gin and tonic.Breakfast Martini.First up we have a lovely Breakfast Martini which was originally created in 2000 by bartender Salvatore Calabrese. It's delicious.A lovely gin martini with a hint of marmalade which adds a bitter sweet flavour, the perfect cocktail for a brunch party, a special occasion or just as a weekend breakfast treat!Breakfast Orange MartiniIngredients;
  • 50ml Gin
  • 1 tbsp Cointreau (18ml) or fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice (18ml)
  • 1½ tsp Thin cut orange marmalade
Method;Mix all the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake well. Strain into a serving glass and garnish with a spiral of orange peel.Blood Sage Gin Cocktail.Sage Gin CocktailOur second cocktail sounds like something you'd serve up at a Halloween party but I can assure you it tastes way better than it sounds!The subtle hint of sage combined with zingy orange creates a beautifully satisfying gin based cocktail. This cocktail is particularly lovely served during the festive season too.Ingredients;
  • 2 Fresh sage leaves (Plus extra for garnish)
  • 2 Blood orange wedges (15ml)
  • 60ml Gin
  • 22ml Lime Juice
  • 20ml Simple syrup (2 sugar to 1 water)
  • 1 Egg white
Method;In a shaker, muddle the orange and sage. Add the remaining ingredients and shake well. Fill with ice and give it a really good shake again. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a sage leaf or two.The Last Word.Finally we bring you a pale green cocktail named 'The Last Word' which originates from the Detroit Athletic Club. According to records this cocktail was part of the club's drinks menu back in 1916! A perfectly balanced drink that is a little sour, a little sweet and packs a punch! Best served with no ice.Ingredients;
  • 25ml Gin
  • 25ml Green Chartreuse
  • 25ml Maraschino liqueur
  • 25ml Lime juice
  • Mint sprig for decoration
  • 1 Tbsp Caster sugar for decoration
    Gin Cocktail
Method;Simply mix all ingredients together and shake over ice in a cocktail shaker. Rub a wedge of lime around the rim of the glass and dip in caster sugar.
